Shapiro & Mack concentrate on various areas of law. Please read more about our specific areas of concentration below.
Criminal Defense | DUI/DWI | Traffic | Juvenile Delinquency | Personal Injury | Liquor Board Violations
The Maryland liquor laws are set up to monitor the activity of buying, selling, consuming, distributing, and operating illegal liquor activities. Over the past several years, Maryland has been cracking down on crimes related to the illegal acts relating to liquor. A person that violates these laws is in danger of getting arrested and incarcerated. A restaurant or bar is in danger losing a liquor license and paying exorbitant fines. These are serious charges and should be treated as such.
The Law Firm of Shapiro & Mack can provide you with invaluable legal representation, advice, and assistance subsequent to your premises receiving summonses from the police department, or violations from the County Liquor Board. We will also strive to prepare you for the future. Through our experience, we know that there will be future visits by the County. You need to be prepared for these surprise inspections. Subsequent violations could mean large civil penalties, criminal charges, the loss of a liquor license, or even worse - the permanent closure of your premises or business. Prior to signing on with Shapiro & Mack in 2006, David Zwanetz worked for eight years in the restaurant and bar business, half of that time as a bar manager. David has seen firsthand the damage that can occur when a restaurant/bar receives a Liquor Board Violation and has thus vowed to help in any way possible to help local business owners facing the Liquor Board.
